national mobile bank account opening

With the new Mobile Banking of the National Bank, you now have the possibility to open a bank account from your mobile phone!

The only documents you will need are the following:

1) Greek police ID (with printed characters) or valid Greek passport

2) Settlement note or Tax Return Certificate

In addition, you are likely to be asked

  • PPC, EYDAP or telephony account (if your address is different from the one on the settlement note or the tax return certificate)
  • Proof of employment or student pass (Depending on whether you are an employee, student or sole proprietorship)

What is the process;

Step 1 | Personal information

You will need to enter some personal information, such as a contact phone number and your e-mail.

Step 2 | Tax Details & Address

You will need to upload your Bank Statement or, if you don't have the last two years, your Tax Return Certificate (in pdf format, from TaxisNet). You will then need to confirm your residential address with a recent utility bill (only if it is different from the one stated in the Settlement Statement or the Tax Return Certificate).

Step 3 | Financial profile & Occupation

You complete your financial profile questionnaire by answering simple questions. If you are a student or an employee, choose your profession and upload either your student pass or a proof of employment (e.g. employer's certificate or salary slip) respectively.

Step 4 | Create a password

You will need to create a secure password for Internet & Mobile Banking. Remember that your username is the e-mail you entered at the beginning of the process.

Step 5 | Identification via video call

The process is completed through a video call of a few minutes, for your identification, with a representative of the bank. Make sure you are in a quiet place with good lighting and a strong internet connection. Do not wear glasses or anything else that hides your face.

You sign and everything is ready!

You log in to Mobile or Internet Banking and you can now make your first transaction! Your card is already on the way!
